Missing in action..... Part 2

Ok, this is part 2 of me missing in action for 2 weeks. While i was in china for a week, i received mails from my sis saying that my dad had a very bad fall!! Its no kidding when a 80 yrs old man had a fall..... it happened on one of the morning when he was sitting outside our new house in JB enjoying his cup of tea. While mum was busy taking care of some gardening work, he fell. Nobody saw how he fell, by the time mum saw him lying on the floor, he was covered with pool of bloods on his head and the floor. Luckily mum did the right thing not to move him but kept talking to him to make sure he is conscious. Mum called sis and bro-in law to come back immediately. They did and also called the ambulant as well. The rest was history.... dad got 13 stitch on his forehead now and a very bad bruise on his left eye. He is doing ok but the fall must had shocked him and he is feeling kinda weak now. As i was in china during that time, there is nothing much i can do but to call back daily to check his condition. Then come the next day, another mail from my sis saying my niece, Isabelle fell from monkey bars and broke her arm!! It happened while she was playing in the playground near her home. According to my brother, this little young girl went home alone to tell her mum what just happened. She did not shed a single drop of tears!! they then rushed her to the hospital and she was operated the next morning to fix her arm. Phew.... 2 family member fell within the same week...... Luckily, both are recovering well now.....

With all these unfortunate stuff happening, we decided to make a trip back to JB to visit them over the weekend. We also make a trip to Spore to get something we wanted for our new house plus some gift to my brave niece. I also managed to meet up with my sec school friend, Tammy. She bought us very nice Japs lunch. Thanks Tammy!! We also take the opportunity to celebrate my dad birthday which falls on 20th July. So... here you go.... an exciting 2 weeks for me!!

Missing in action..... Part 1

Finally i have time to re-look at my blog today. Phew... its been over 3 weeks since i last posted an update. Well, my excuse is.... its been a real heck of a 3 week i must say! :) Firstly, i was away to Guangzhou, China for a week (7th to 11th) with my wife to hunt for furniture's for our new home. Why China?? Well, there is this town in Guangzhou, which is called Shunde, who housethe largest furniture malls or exhibition centre they call it, in the world!! Yes, largest in the world!! Can you believe that??? I don't exactly know how big it is but i was told there are some 10km worth of shops on both side of the road that sells anything related to the word "Home + Furnitures"...... i ain't kidding here..... Its true and you can ask around to verify that. We only managed to cover 2 of the exhibition centre for the 2 days we spend there. This 2 are one of the best for home furniture's and outdoor furniture's as well. Its not our first trip to this area as we did similiar hunt 2 yrs ago for our current house. Don't be misunderstand that all products from china are not good. They do make some decent quality and nice furniture's though. And most probably some of the furniture's you are having at home are made in China as well. A lot of our local furniture brand's have their range made from China. They just re-label it. Reason is simple, lower cost! Yes, the cost is indeed lower compare if you buy in Msia... somewhere around 50% lower in average!! Apple to apple comparison..... Initially, we wanted our new home furniture to be bought locally but those that we set our eyes on are just to "dear" for me to afford. I cant afford or cannot imagine myself buying a set of sofa for the cost of a Myvi..... Its just ridiculous for me but i am sure someone can afford it in KL. Go and have a look at those sofas in "SPACE" along Bangsar..... Crazy price tag... whatever has a tag "Made in Italy" will cost you a car... unbelievable!!

Well, we managed to get what we wanted and all of them will be on the way here coming Aug.... Unfortunately, for some reasons, the pics of those stuff we bought just vanished from my Lightroom. However, you can review them from my wife's blog though. She managed to upload it before it vanished. http://www.andersonlovesjoy.blogspot.com/

Besides hunting for furniture's, Joy managed to meet up with her friends from Spore in Guangzhou on the last night of our trip. We did some shopping together and i also met up with my colleagues (Jackie & Wilson) as well. Jackie bought all of us to hunt for some good tea and tea set which i got hook during the trip. The southern chinese, like the Hongkies, loves "Kung Fu" tea. We practically had "Kung Fu" tea + dinsum every morning and i got a hang of it during the trip. Well, we ended up buying quite a bit and we also ended up over weight for our luggage. But we do enjoy our trip tough. Mission accomplished.....

Family affair part 2.......

A little bit about my family...... Yup, am the little boy besides my dad!! Cute huh!! Mum seated far left... Eldest sis Serena, standing far left. Elder brother Steven standing in the middle and elder sis, Lucille standing far right.....

Below photo was taken during this year CNY. Obviously i had grown in size. And my parents had aged a lot as well. This pic was taken by my sis-in law which obviously could not handle a 50mm lens quite well. Never mind the composition, most importantly, it shows the family is still intact and happy.

Naturally, over years, the family had grown in size. First up are my elder brother family. His wife, my sis-in law, Fong Lin and their 2 child. Isaac & Isabelle.... They are living in Spore now

Next. My eldest sis family. In this pic, having both her child on her flank. Fiona & Lawrence. Unfortunately, my bro-in law Paul, was not there that time. They are living in JB now with Fiona schooling in Spore. Lawrence taking his SPM this year....

Family affair......

I guess i should intro a little about myself on my first day of blogging...... so that you know who you are dealing with..... :)

Well, from the pic... yes, i am the one in the superman tee! My wife Joy, besides me and our "son".... Boy Boy in his rainbow tee..... :) Then comes the 4th member of the family. He is my younger son (but bigger in size) Max. Yes, we are dog lover and they are part of the family. Unfortunately, both my sons don't get along well. Probably they are jealous of each other.
I was born and grew up in JB, i studied in Spore and get to know Joy in Spore some 18 yrs back. However, we didn't get started until 8 yrs back. Joy was back to KL when we started and i joined her in KL some 5 yrs back. And here we are now, in KL, starting our own family.

Roger....Roger......

Salute to the man.... Roger Federer!!! What a Wimbledon final last nite! A true living legend! 15 Grand Slams to date... still more to come..... Pity A.Rod, he played real well last nite, bazookaing endless aces..... it was a great match... He really makes RF sweat for this title.... RF return to form is a real inspiration to everyone... anything is possible if you have the will power and believes. Remember when he lost last year French Open finale (which he never won b4) to Nadal and follow another lost in Wimbledon (which he never lost b4) to the same person.... and being taken over on the No.1 spot by him... he was practically & mentally being beaten totally. But RF bounce back this year. Winning his first French Open & win his 5th Wimbledon title plus regaining his No.1 spot from Nadal..... what an amazing year for him..... I hope i can have such amazing will power and believes myself..... Cheers RF!!

Taking up photography......

Frankly, i had never get a hook on snapping pics until 7 mths back. My wife loves to snap though. Reasons?? Simple.... inspire by someone's work of art! I never thought photography can be so meaningful. As the old saying, pictures tell a thousands word. Indeed!! it all started when my wife got us a very pro photographer for our ROM ceremony. She spend many hours searching for the right photographer before decided on engaging her as our photographer for the big day. As usual, she will consult me before proceeding bcos i am very fussy. She showed me her blog. I was very impressed with her work the very first moment i saw her works. Her pics not only shows what's the content but also tell a story, a feeling of the moment. Her work really impressed me. So, she was the culprit who makes me ended up spending a few k getting a DSLR last dec.... Thanks Fiona for inspiring me......

Well, after 7 mths of addiction, i ended up taking tons of pics, learning camera skills from mags, my cousin Jason & books, spending $$$ on new lenses & equipment's, bought an imac to edit pics..... i am still enjoying every moment of it. Usually, i don't get tangle for something for this long except for my wife.... :) Anyway, this is how i got started......

You can view Fiona's work on this link http://fifototemp.ipower.com/blog/

Why blogging....

Today is my very first day "Blogging"....yah, i am actually blogging!! I never imagine doing this until my lovely wife prompted me to do so. I am a guy who dont really spend lots of time on the internet except for work. Probably beause of work, i am kinda sick of facing the monitor. As i am not a very "public" guy who shares feelings over the air, its kinda tough for me to get started. Well, since she prompted me to have my own blog, we started to setup a new account last nite. There are few reasons for me to do this. Firstly, me taking up photography some few months back. She was suggesting i should share my pics with frens and also express my feelings about the pics taken over a blog. Sounds nice huh.... Come to think about it, it make real sense! Whats the point of taking thousands of pics and not sharing your thoughts about the pics taken.

She has her own blog and i must admit, its quite interesting! Sharing her thoughts, feelings and activities with people she knows. You kinda have something to look forward of doing daily. And she is getting very active lately and most importantly, she is enjoying doing it. I hope i can achieve that level of satisfaction and certainly i will try my very best. Lets see how it goes from here..........
